Meetups, markets, free events and weekend plans in a city, plus photos from an event while it happens.
Event listings sites miss the small stuff: a pop-up market announced two days ahead, a free workshop at the library, a meetup that only posts on X. These recipes look for event words near a city name.
There are two ways to tie a search to a place. near:"City" with within:15mi asks X for posts it associates with that location. Very few posts carry an exact location, so this returns a partial set, but what it returns is local. Typing the city name in quotes instead finds posts that mention the city, wherever they were posted from, which catches more and includes some noise. The recipes use both, and it's worth trying each for your town.
Use the Latest tab for anything happening this week. For bigger events with their own hashtag, the last recipe pulls photos and videos from people who are there.
